MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA

The Network’s membership laregly consists of leading players from a range of disciplines relevant to addressing the ethical, legal and social issues stemming from the new biotechnologies; including law, ethics, sociology, epidemiology, anthropology, cultural studies, medicine, genetics, political science, psychology, philosophy, social work and management. Membership is open to individuals from any field within the natural and social sciences or the humanities.

A key aim of the Network is to facilitate engagement between professionals, both within and beyond academia, in response to the need for practical solutions to the ethical, legal and social problems that the new technologies bring. Consequently, the Network does not restrict participation to members of the academy, but encourages participation from all those engaged in the creative process of scholarship necessary to address the issues that are the focus of this Network.

The Centre for Law and Genetics will consider any application on its merits, however we reserve the right to turn down any application or revoke any membership without redress.
